Why Leaping Forward Requires a Backward Step

Whether you wish to break open a door or do pole-vaulting, you need a running start! Having the nose up against the wall has never proven to be a great evolving factor!

The fact that often politics goes: ‘one step forward-two steps back’, doesn’t change the fact that evolution more often goes: ‘one step backwards – two steps forward’.

Joking apart…

Regarding our inner evolution, we definitely need to step backward from our thoughts and habits…
and from our thinking habits!

That will enable us to gain some peace of mind, momentum and perspective. Then we can make the next move more wisely.

That is why the first step of mind training is to relax and sidestep the walls of our conceptual world and emotional tendencies.

This is in fact a step backward ! 

Once that is done, we do feel lighter and clearer. Great!

We also feel more at ease with ourselves and others. Super!

But this gain of lucidity, strength and openness is just there to enable us to jump ahead … toward our next quantum leap!

So better not to get stuck frontward…
…nor backward!
